Agewise Heart Smart Co-Enzyme Q10 mg Plus 30 caps is a special combination formula of Co-Enzyme Q10 100mg and heart health co-factors Vitamins B6 and B12, Folic Acid and nutritional antioxidants Vitamin C, and Selenium plus Betacarotene.
Co-Enzyme Q10 is needed for muscle activity and is used by some athletes to help them perform at their peak. It helps in the maintenance of peripheral circulation and acts as a free radical scavenger and antioxidant. When taken regularly it may help to improve general wellbeing and maintain healthy gums.

Precautions / Contra-indications
• CoQ10 is generally well tolerated and no serious adverse effects have been reported even during long term use.1
• CoQ10 should not be used during pregnancy or lactation because its safety during these periods has not yet been established.
• CoQ10 is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity.1
• Avoid use while on Warfarin therapy except under medical direction.
• Response to CoQ10 should not be expected for at least eight weeks after beginning supplementation, because the synthesis of new CoQ10-dependent enzymes is a slow process.
Indications
CoQ10 has been shown to:
• Boost energy levels
• Help maintain heart health
• Manage blood pressure
• Increase endurance and
• Improve physical energy levels in athletes
• Boost the immune system
• Help maintain healthy circulation
• Slow the effects of ageing
• Help periodontal disease
Special Benefits
CoQ10 - ESSENTIAL TO LIFE
Co-Enzyme Q10 is present in all body cells and helps convert the food we eat into ATP, the fuel for all energy requiring processes within the cells. It is important for the transfer of oxygen and energy between the blood and the cells.
CoQ10 is essential for the health of all the body cells, tissues and organs.1
When CoQ10 is deficient cell functions are affected which could cause or aggravate many medical conditions.1
CoQ10 AND HEART HEALTH
A deficiency of CoQ10 is common in cardiac patients. The heart (and the liver) contain the largest number of mitochondria (fuel cells) per tissue concentration, therefore they contain the greatest amount of CoQ10 and have the greatest need for the enzyme.1 The heart needs the constant supply of usable fuel for its constant contraction and pumping action so may be unusually susceptible to the effects of CoQ10 deficiency. Supplementing with CoQ10 has shown to be of great promise in the treatment of heart disease.1
Studies show that CoQ10 might be a safe and effective treatment for angina pectoris under medical supervision.1
Studies have also shown that CoQ10 may reduce blood pressure in some hypertensives.
CoQ10 AND LONGEVITY
CoQ10 helps with the following, which may be connected to the ageing process:
• Increases energy and exercise tolerance. Many older age folk claim they do not have the energy to exercise.
CoQ10 corrects age-related declines in the immune system which can decrease resistance to infection
• Helps heal age-related periodontal disease, improving eating habits and improving nutrition.
Many studies have shown a deficiency of CoQ10 in gum tissue. CoQ10 is important, because healing and repair of periodontal tissue requires efficient energy production
• Is a powerful antioxidant
CoQ10 - ANTIOXIDANT
CoQ10, a powerful antioxidant, helps inhibit lipid peroxidation in the membrane of the mitochondria which would otherwise attack the cell membrane and severely limit its energy-making potential. The process of producing energy also generates free radicals. CoQ10 helps destroy the free radicals.
OBESITY
A study suggests that perhaps up to 50% of really obese people may be deficient in CoQ10. CoQ10, an integral part of energy production on the cellular level, and a low-calorie diet may result in weight loss superior to that obtained by a
restricted diet alone.
